Worked example: Kate Hewko, October 2026
The parameters that produced the swaps on https://pixverse-kate-hewko-1020.pages.dev/, with observed timings and costs. Everything below is in words because digits render as text in the image model's output. Image masters are not in git; receipts, prompts and review records are.

Joan's reference set was built from her comp card with ref-set.py using the identity description "a tousled platinum-silver shag with soft wispy bangs, blue eyes, slim and toned, in her late fifties" in 37 seconds for four views.
The three fictional models' six-panel sheets came from the prompts in model-sheet-prompts.json (one 3:2 image each, two candidates generated, one chosen).

garment strings:
- Zebra: "the zebra-print short-sleeve blouse with its crew neck, draped side tie and long asymmetrical cascading hem, layered over a black top, and the light-wash jeans" (the product page says "semi-sheer" and "bralette"; both words failed moderation in generation, so the layering is described neutrally).
- Jacket: "the cropped boxy colorblock shaggy faux fur jacket in horizontal bands of pink and fuchsia with its crew neckline, hook closure and long sleeves, worn open over a white tank top, with the light-wash wide-leg jeans".

Observed timings and costs (GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst at 2160p, Personal workspace)
| Step | Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Six-panel model sheet, 3:2 | about 60 s | 70 credits per image |
| Reference set from a comp card, four views in parallel | 37 s | 4 images, about 50 each |
| Identity swap, one photo, generation only | 52 to 60 s | 50 credits |
| Reviewer verdict (Gemini 4 Argon via gateway, or 3.8 Flash) | 2 to 3 min | no PixVerse credits |
| Body refit, one photo | 167 to 272 s including review | 50 credits |
| Twelve jacket swaps across four models, including resubmissions and one interrupted attempt | about 25 min wall clock, three photos per model in parallel | about 2,100 credits |
The current default quality is 1440p (2K); the figures above were measured at 2160p, which is now an explicit-request setting.
Review outcomes worth knowing
- First attempts passed on 19 of 22 swaps on the page. Resubmissions fixed: a white tank that came back ribbed (Ingrid, jacket, hand on hip: second attempt passed with fives) and a colour shift on a second-attempt print (Lucía, jacket, hand on hip: third attempt passed).
- One false failure: Lucía's open-jacket photo failed three times on "other garments" because the reviewer counted her gold hoops as added jewellery. Once the reviewer was given the model's own look (the
lookstring), all three attempts passed. The reviewer prompt now always carries the look. - The reviewer is not perfectly stable near the threshold, so the reference implementation confirms a fail with a second review before spending a generation on a resubmission.
- The retired mask-and-composite method failed the reviewer on model completeness ("rectangular skin tone patches on both arms"), which is the defect that retired it.
See review-record-pass.json (a passing record with evidence per criterion) and review-record-fail-before-model-note.json (the false failure, before the model's look was passed to the reviewer).
